A CB Medya production, Robu 404 — a new-generation children’s animated film developed with a full-time AI production model — meets audiences on October 2. The project is produced by Saner Ayar, with Ayşe Ayar as creative producer. Barış Çorak sits in the director’s chair, while the screenplay bears the signature of İpek Çolakoğlu and Yağmur Ayar. Çorak, together with his team, also takes on a multi-layered creative role in the project as the person responsible for the film’s visual design and AI-assisted production processes.
Meticulously worked on for a long time, Robu 404 positions AI not merely as a technical production tool but as an active part of the creative process. Drawing on AI technologies in its visual world, character designs and production flow, the film offers a strong example of the future of animation production in Turkey.
Robu 404 focuses on the story of 9-year-old Can, who isn’t lost in the shadow of technology but searches for his own voice through it. The “We’re Trying” motto at the heart of the film reflects not only the excitement of production but also the sense of discovery, courage and learning in Can’s world. Forced to make a choice through Robu 404, the robot he built himself, Can realizes in that moment that being seen takes courage, but the greatest power is being able to be yourself. Because sometimes, to find your voice, you first have to try.
Bringing technology and emotion together, Robu 404 aims to offer children, families and educators a cinema experience that is both fun and thought-provoking.
Robu 404 is in theaters only, all across Turkey, on October 2, distributed by CJ ENM.
